Release: 3.0.6 - October 20th, 2011

  • Minor bug fixes.

Release: 3.0.5 - October 20th, 2011

  • FEATURE: Price model changes now specify as min_price/max_price, which determine the minimum/maximum price that will be charged for a data listing, including all relevant fees. This allows for directly setting the price of a data listing without needing to review the price after fees are added when attempting to hit a specific final price point.
  • FEATURE: The user-interface displays a profit and fees breakdown on fixed price datasets and a tool for evaluating profits and fees for the amount of data a user could order when using variable pricing.
  • FEATURE: Explicit subsidies are no longer available. If the price you set does not cover all of the fees for a dataset, you will be charged a subsidy for the remaining balance.
  • MAINTENANCE: The following API fields are no longer used: provider_margin, provider_min_margin, provider_max_discount, provider_discount_rate, and provider_discount_expires_at. The following API fields have been added: max_price (was present before, but now is an editable field) and min_price
  • FEATURE: The “credited” royalty model is now used by default on all Market data. This can still be changed to “uncredited” through the API, but it is no longer editable through the user-interface. API clients do not need to fill in this field unless they want to override this default behavior.
  • MAINTENANCE: All datasets have had maximum and minimum prices computed from the old pricing model.
  • FEATURE: Private Store Sitemaps are now being generated. These are special files used to tell search engines what content is available on a website. Sitemap files are updated daily, with search engines fetching them at their discretion.
  • FEATURE: Data outside viewport indication in Mapview now indicates when a search that returned no results does match data outside of the current viewport. This is especially valuable for keyword style searches. This is represented in the Search API by the ‘entries_outside_viewport’ field. This field will only be meaningful when no results were returned by a search.
  • Minor bug fixes and performance improvements

Release: 3.0.2 - September 26th, 2011

  • Minor bug and style fixes.

Release: 3.0.1 - September 20th, 2011

  • Minor bug and style fixes.

Release: 3.0.0 - September 14th, 2011

  • FEATURE: Full User Interface Redesign
  • FEATURE: Fully redesigned data browsing to take advantage of every inch of screen real estate. As you expand your browser window you see more of the map and more data
  • FEATURE: Advanced filtering tools allow you to see which attributes of your data cut results down the fastest, making it easier to find that one needle in your giant data haystack. We’ve also made it easy to share your searches through links, enabling you to send collaborators what you’re seeing, complete with map position and filter criteria.
  • FEATURE: Dedicated dataset pages allows data to take center stage with a larger tiled map and fully visible description. Customizing and ordering data is now easier too. An area of interest is now defined with a marquee tool, making it easier to order a precise location.
  • FEATURE: Social Media access - All datasets available on Private Stores and WeoGeo’s Marketplace automatically get Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ buttons, so it’s easier for people to share the data that is helping them get things done.
  • FEATURE: Administrator control from a dataset page while on Market allows on the fly changes without having to be in your Library.
  • FEATURE: Improved Admin interface allows for more effective handling of common tasks. The new Admin panel builds on our newly constructed reporting APIs to provide better insight into a Library. It’s now easier to manage data, users, and access controls with reporting tools which expose CSV and PDF versions of their data that can be downloaded for review.
  • FEATURE: Revised data upload requirements - We removed barriers that caused issues in the upload workflow. Our system now pulls projection parameters from the data itself, freeing you from having to look up and provide information that’s already in the data. Cutting back on metadata requirements has made it easier to get data from your desktop to our servers, allowing you to fill in all of the details at your convenience.
  • FEATURE: The Shopping Cart allows for bulk ordering in a single transaction. Need someone to sign off on the data you want to order? Put it all in a Cart then send them a PDF with the details. As with all of our other tools, the Shopping Cart is exposed through APIs that make it easy for third-party clients to integrate this feature into their WeoGeo experience.
  • FEATURE: Reports API offers better insight into a Library. Datasets, Users, Access Controls, Orders, and Charges are all presented in a structured format designed to make it easy for any API client to present them in a tabular view. All of the available report types offer CSV and PDF output, making it easier to crunch numbers or grab a snapshot of the current data for review.
  • FEATURE: API redesign follows stricter adherence to REST principles, making it easier to write clients that stay up to date. Both JSON and XML API results now include hyperlinks to URLs relevant to the activities that may take on a resource. This makes it easier for our servers to provide backwards compatibility with existing clients until they are able to upgrade. The APIs have also been gone over with a fine-toothed comb, making sure that the JSON and XML versions provide the same information.

  • MAINTENANCE: Job files are no longer split into 2GB pieces.
  • MAINTENANCE: New algorithms for download of files. Still goes through two tries for everything (decompressed and compressed), however, now there is a timer that stops processing for a few seconds if something should fail, to account for random S3 errors.
  • MAINTENANCE: Updated San Jose Water workspace with new attribute setter (request from San Jose Water).
  • MAINTENANCE: No longer consuming the ‘whole’ dataset for rasters during classification. Only header information is requested.

Patch 2.3.5 changes: - July 29, 2011

  • MAINTENANCE: Encoding now explicitly given to the vector main workspace when the input file is a MITAB file.
  • MAINTENANCE: Replaced vector output file format IEPS with regular EPS.
  • MAINTENANCE: Now it takes two tries to fail a s3copy from S3.
  • MAINTENANCE: Now it takes three tries to fail a s3copy from S3.
  • MAINTENANCE: Now it takes three tries to fail a s3copy to S3.
  • MAINTENANCE: Assigned defaults to the vector workspaces.

Patch 2.3.4 changes: - April 7, 2011

  • MAINTENANCE: Changed the protocol from http to https for download links in download Weofiles.
  • BUG FIX: Job download signed URLs now last 3 days instead of 1. They were meant to last 3 days since the beginning but when the change to s3public was made the option to extend the expiration date was not used.

Patch 2.3.3 changes: - April 4, 2011

  • MAINTENANCE: If the job success notification API call fails and the status of the job is already “Ready for Download” then do not fail. Ignore it.
  • MAINTENANCE: When dealing with miscellaneous ToC files, do not move them to their final location, instead, copy them.

Patch 2.3.2 changes: - March 30, 2011

  • BUG FIX: Fixed problem with s3public and python not being nice to each other. Now s3public gets called once for every file that needs a public s3 link.

Release 2.3.1 changes: - February 26, 2011

  • BUG FIX: Fixed little problem with “empty” datasets not going into post processing. This problem was introduced in the 2.3.0 release.

  • Fixed issue with non-delivery of empty files referenced by the WOR files for orders with MITAB->MITAB file format transformation.
  • Fixed issues related to ToC file parsing associated with vector orders that required delivery of empty files.
  • Fixed issues related to ToC file parsing associated with vector orders that required masking of attributes.
  • The readme file for jobs now supports Unicode too.
  • Code refactoring of some C++ utilities (fmeutils with s3public) for easier maintenance and deployment.
  • Fixed job processing issues associated with missing upload weofiles. If upload weofile is not present, job processing program assumes data files chunking to be disabled and tries to successfully fulfill jobs.
  • Fixed directory structure issues with vector and raster ToC jobs, ensuring that the relative paths are now maintained.
  • Fixed issues in which MITAB pointer files were being processed rather than copied.
  • Fixed problem with ToC jobs where no dataset files are requested. In the past the job would never end, now a signal gets send even if there are no data files. This signals starts the post process functions.
  • The TableOfContents(ToC) Ingester workspace can now handle features which have no area (like points).
  • Added support for KML and GML file formats for vector jobs.
  • Removed transformers that stored features during run time to alleviate the massive usage of memory. Replaced them with custom python code.

Release: 2.1 - January 18th, 2011

  • Added a new custom exception to the weogeobase called jobProcessorError which is now triggered by any error which occurs in custom python code. This works together with a new system of error checking which extracts errors straight from the FME log files in a chain starting from the deepest workspaces all the way to the driver workspace. The actual errors are now enclosed in CDATA tags so that the API does not freak out when XML reserved characters show up inside the body of the events (and they do).
  • Every workspace now uses the function “connect” of the WeoGeoAPI to establish a connection to the website instead of the less reliable function “connectUsingAPIKey”.
  • Cleanup all the code in the weogeobase so that all error messages include the name of the function that triggered it.
  • The FME transformer called ‘postProcessor’ was simplified by moving almost everything to it to the “postProcess” function in the weogeobase. This is better since all workspaces use the same postProcess function so there is less repetition of code.
  • Updated the weoXML python module to its latest version.
  • Fixed problem with raster main workspace not keeping the palette for geotiff-geotiff jobs.
  • Fixed problem with raster band selection of jobs which use table of contents.
  • Cleaned up old, useless code from weogeobase.
  • Optional option ‘WEO_NATIVE_FILE_FORMAT_ONLY’ no longer ignored for ToC features.

Release: 2.0 - December 9th, 2010

  • FEATURE: Added new transformer that splits raster jobs of sufficient size (mostly anything over 2 GB) into smaller tiles so that the job can be delivered in the selected file format. Thus now it is possible to deliver a 10 GB job as a collection of JPEG tiles, in the past that job would have failed, or it would have been forced into a file format that could handle the 10 GB (such as ENVI).
  • FEATURE: Implemented a brand new job packaging system. Jobs that are over 6 GB in size are now packed and shipped as .tar.gz files. Jobs smaller than 6 GB are delivered as ZIP files.

Release: 1.2.0 - September 23rd, 2010

  • Fixed problem with custom transformer proj4reprojector. Now, when it takes an empty parameter as input the transformer simply does not reproject.
  • Dataset is not re-projected if the job projection is set to “native”.
  • It is now possible to provide proj4 strings directly via the jobs API.
  • Renamed the output file format option “ESRI_BIL” to “ESRI_HDR”.
  • Preview tiles corresponding to a job selection are reprojected to GEO before being reprojected to the source dataset’s projection.
  • Fixed problem with UTM projections in the southern hemisphere.
  • Reversed the order of job file downloads for ToC jobs to be more efficient on average.
  • Removed deprecated python files.

Release: 1.0.2 - July 14th, 2010

  • Fixed the problem with multiple processes writing to the same log file and then crashing. The inner workspaces now will have their own, unique, log file which will be saved to the working directory for the job.

  • Fixed the problem with main workspaces trying to access the file “_job_dump.text” at the wrong location.

  • ToC improvements:

    • The job processor will keep the directory structure of datasets which contain a ToC file. This directory structure will be maintained in the deliverable ZIP file. Vector job processing program no longer stops processing even if the job with a ToC file doesn’t produce any result.
    • New option “WEO_EMPTY_FILE_DELIVERY” added to the Look Up Table in ToC. If this option is set to ‘yes’, empty files are delivered for those layers that have not been selected for jobs and/or layers that create no output after job processing. For example: Empty, template, and MITAB files may now be delivered if the right conditions are met.
    • Made ToC attribute filter case insensitive.
    • Added an option (“WEO_MASK_ATTRIBUTES”) in the ToC which, if set to ‘yes’, clears every attribute other than the selected attributes (attributes filtered on).
    • Added an option (“WEO_MISCELLANEOUS_FILE”) to the WEO_FEATURES in the ToC file. If a ToC feature has this property, it means that the files the feature represents are miscellaneous files. Please take note, these miscellaneous files will not be processed by the backend and will be delivered “as is”.
  • Greatly improved error reporting.

  • Style files are now uploaded and delivered “as is” by default. The style files are delivered (even for a customized job), and empty files are delivered as placeholders to TAB files that are in the style files but not part of the job.

  • Applied a change to vector workspaces so that geo_cropping = off, completely by-passes the clipping/spatial_selection step in favor of using the database coordinates.

  • Added a smart logic solution engine. This enables ToC jobs to solve complex logins such as “(true and false or (true or true) and false)” where every boolean expression is a full attribute condition.

  • Unicode is now allowed in dataset descriptions.

  • Added a new WeoGeoAPI python file to handle all the WeoGeoAPI calls.

  • Added functionality so that the custom license, or the default weogeo license, is delivered with every job.

Release: 0.2.3 - May 6th, 2010

  • Support to include multiple related files in a single upload using a Table of Contents (ToC).
  • WeoGeoAPI calls use WeoGeoAPI python suite.
  • Differentiation between testing and production environment.

Release: 0.2.2 - March 30th, 2010

  • Addition of Database events to all workspaces to record errors etc.
  • Adjustment of the reprojection mechanism to separate the preview projection from the data projection. Reprojection is now achieved through proj4 strings instead of EPSG codes.
  • Addition of a readme file with information about the source dataset and the resulting dataset.
  • Change in the geo crop option for vector jobs. Before the default behavior was “clip” and now the default is “Spatial Selection”.

Release: 0.1.1.1 - January 11th, 2010

  • CSV output now includes a header line with the names of the rows as the first line.
  • Layers’ selection for vectors now enabled. Users can pick desired layers out of a vector dataset and only those layers will be delivered.

  • Modifications to allow easier 3rd party development and scripted operations.
  • More flexible backend processing, allowing for the delivery of customized imagery of various types (e.g. vector and raster).
  • Job processing on datasets done off of native format. No longer will datasets be converted into interim format.
